Wouldn’t you want to have everything that your heart desires? A mansion here, a castle there, a chain of casinos, hotels, a big family and a pear tree. One man certainly wants all of that. His name is Jack Abramoff.
Jack is staring in a movie and has a boatload of money, so you can bet your ass that something illegal transpired. The man plays in the same league as the highest rollers and resorts to unbelievable levels of illegalities like cons, schemes and fraud.
He and his partner, Michael Scanlon, go to a mob-connected friend for help in one of their more, off the record antics. Unfortunately, things go really bad, really fast as Jack is pulled in to a world of all sorts of troubles like hitmen, murders and a scandal so big that even people who have no TV, internet, phone or even go outside hear of it.
The director is George Hickenlooper, who you all might recognize from such fantastic movies like … Oh and he also produced … wrote … euh …
Not only this guy is involved, but it was also written by Norman Snider, the guy who brought us … eh, fuck it. Let’s just see who’s in this thing.
Kevin Spacey as Jack, Barry Pepper as Michael, Jon Lovitz … WELL, ALRIGHTY THEN. This is more like it. These three people alone are reason enough to go and watch this movie. Then there’s the fact that this movie is getting a lot of positive reviews, as you may have seen in the trailer. This includes Roger Ebert who said it was “stunning”. Based on true events, this movie is looking to be way to good to pass up.
