DMC: A Ninja Theory Article follow up

http://screwattack.com/blogs/Greyarch-Entertainment/DMC-a-Ninja-Theory-Article

I realized I may have focused too much on the character without going in to as much detail with the rest, perhaps even confusing some people. So here's a few clarifications:

I do not hate this game. In fact, I'm welcoming it with open arms, eagerly awaiting its arrival. One thing I've always felt is that the action fell short of the promise. I wanted to do in game what Dante could do in cutscene. Like I said, trailers represent the full product, and if our Super Ninjas can deliver on what they're promising in the trailer, I'm all for it.

My main reason for disliking this new Dante stems from several things:

1) Ninja Theory is making us believe that these new looks come from what is considered to be cool now. Which is a complete and utter lie. An admirable thing to do, but the execution is all flawed, making me think that the premise is just a cover-up for the mess they made.
2) There is no denying that the new Dante is a younger version of the Creative Director. Down to his haircut, even.
3) Devil May Cry is about style. From the way you play the game to the way that Dante looks, it's all about style. Gameplay is rewarded by the way you play the game. Which is shown in the stylemeter or whatever it is called. Dante is dressed in cool threads that are unique. Sometimes weird, but still unique. There is no denying though that his old appearance has a lot of anime influences, which is why some westernization of this westernized reboot wouldn't be all that wrong. Unfortunately this meant making him in to an angry rich kid who goes around town beating up drunks in bars ... then taking their clothes. I mean come on, the old Dante gets burned, shot, frozen, sliced and diced and his clothes remain clean as a whistle. Kind of like Clark Kent in Smallville.

HOWEVER, that still doesn't mean I think that this is a gamebreaker. Or a point that makes it an inferior game. No, I just think that it's a complete and utter rape of the "Classic" Dante.
They have done a lot of things right with this character though, like the way he fights and acts tough (sometimes)

Here's the twist though: We don't even know if what I just said is applicable or not. Why? Because of what I'll say in a bit.

Here's a quote from Bobothemonkey, screwattack legend and co-creator / leader of www.tehpwnshop.com

"If the game turns out to be a pile of shit, it won't be down to the fact that Dante's found himself a different stylist..."

Which is basically a great point.

Now, about the music. The song used there... it's not that great. Hell, I would have preferred this:

That seems to be more en par with the Dante that they were going for.

Last point that I want to make is that it was just a stupid assed trailer. All it basically did was show off the new Dante, which was a big mistake because it only showed off his appearance. Plus, it would have been appreciated if we also saw some background story for his appearance. Like him being kicked the shit out of or something. But no, this is a teaser trailer. And a better teaser trailer would have been one where they kept Dante in the shadows.
Everything people are bitching and moaning about stems from the fact that this was a horrible trailer. Yes, it showed off great action, great graphics and more of the like. But they dropped the bomb too fast on the new Dante and did it all wrong.

Here's an example:

Classic Dante is Michael Keaton's Batman. The new Dante is George Clooney. Let's say they showed off Clooney's Batnipples in the trailer without any kind of explanation. I mean, how much of a fool would you feel like if you realized he was fighting Freeze and his nipples would go erect from the chill. I mean, come on.
