It's your basic Green Arrow story, where Oliver Queen is a party boy that gets shipwrecked on an island. Though, in this version he's banging his girlfriend's sister on said boat, who dies. You can tell what kind of a TV show this is going to be just from that alone.
Anyways, Oliver is found and returns home a brand new man. He becomes tough, mean and a genuine badass who knows how to use a bow like no other. He sets up his own little batcave, creates his own gear and trains to become the Green Arro-. Scratch that, his name is just Arrow. Oh, and it's in Starling City. Not Star City. OH, and he doesn't wear a green mask.
I love how they managed to evolve from their time in Smallville and actually show some gritty action alongside Oliver showing he really is a badass with a bow. He does Parcours and everything. But, the entire set-up and his time as Oliver just feels too ... Well, it feels like a Soap Opera. And, that's what's holding me back from liking this show.
