Both actors aren't particularly known to be fan favorites. At all. Nicolas Cage is laughed at most of the times for his performance in the abysmal The Wicker Man, instead of being remembered for such movies as the more than excellent Matchstick Men and Bad Lieutenant - Port of Call: New Orleans. Whilst John Travolta is best remembered for his old age performances in musical movies like Grease, whilst his more recent movies like Swordfish and The General's Daughter.
However, there is no denying that these two fine actors and gentlemen are remembered for the movie Face/Off. Also a forgotten movie, but there is no denying that this movie brings out the best of both actors. They showed that they are action heroes to the core with a lot more substance to them them than that.
And now, for the first time since that movie, it's possible that both heroes are going to return to the screen together. In not one, but two movies.
First up is Shrapnel, a movie that follows a former Bosnian soldier who seeks to revenge the wound an American soldier had caused him. He plans to do this by turning a friendly hunting trip in to a deadly wargame. This movie was on the 2008 screenwriter blacklist of unproduced films.
Second up is a novel based movie called Sea Trial, a story about a couple on a pleasant cruise that slowly but surely turns in to a horror scenario.
I am very exited to hear this news. Here's to hoping these two projects will actually go places!
