gtHop - Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II

If there’s one franchise that is both revered as despised, then it has to be the Star Wars one. George Lucas created a masterpiece with the first Star Wars, but then went on to create the third movie in his franchise. By then, the toys based on the franchise had made more money than the first two movies did and so it became more about the possible toys he could squirt out than the movie. Follow this by a horrible Prequel Trilogy, where George Lucas decided to change his own star wars universe and history, and you have a pretty good idea of the depths the mighty have fallen. Not only did Lucas trash the story with the prequel trilogy, but he’s also tinkering with the original trilogy by changing things digitally on the DVD sets.
Besides the complete and utter mess that is the movie franchise, Star Wars made its way to games as well. There’s been many, many successful and simply fantastic games with the Star Wars name, including a little game called The Force Unleashed. Now, the story of TFU is that it is set between the Original Trilogy and the Prequel Trilogy, guiding you through the story with a character known as Starkiller. And here we have a trailer for The Force Unleashed II. So let’s hop to it!

The trailer showcases some pretty spectacular graphics. We see Starkiller on a very familiar planet, which looks  lot like we have seen it in the movies. The amount of details found in the environment is awesome to say the least. Starkiller himself is also very detailed and has been given a significant upgrade from the previous game. Yoda, the jedi he meets on the planet, looks very good as well.
Which brings us to the voice acting. It seems that Yoda is talking like he did in the Prequel Trilogy. It’s really disturbing to hear him like that. However, the voice is Yoda’s and it isn’t half assed or phoned in. A definite plus. Starkiller’s performance was top notch as well.
Not only was the voice acting superb, but the ambient noises, the footsteps, the tapping of Yoda’s staff, it all sounds really good.
The trailer also seems to set the mood for what the story is going to be about. Starkiller seems to be looking for something very important. And I definitely liked it when Yoda talked like he did, but very much with an underlining message. He said: “That what you seek Inside YOU will find.” Very interesting indeed. To me it sounded like he wasn’t just saying that what he was looking for was inside that place.

This trailer was short, sweet and to the punch. It revealed Yoda was going to be in this game and then some. It also showcased some amazing graphics, sound and more.
There’s been so much more about this game that’s been released to the public, like a Boba Fet trailer, a convention trailer, a developer diary. I suggest you check those out as well because this game is promising to be simply amazing.
