Step up 4 anncounced

Photobucket

Officially announced by Summit Entertainment was another sequel to the Step Up franchise. Step Up is a series of dance movies where two worlds collide and where they have to work together for the same cause. With each sequel, the stakes have gone higher, and so has this one. What with the official description reading as follows:
"STEP UP 4 is the next installment in the worldwide smash Step Up franchise, which sets the dancing against the vibrant backdrop of Miami. Emily, the daughter of a wealthy businessman, arrives in Miami with aspirations of becoming a professional dancer, but soon falls in love with Sean, a young man who leads a dance crew in elaborate, cutting-edge flash mobs. The crew, called the MOB, strives to win a contest for a major sponsorship opportunity, but soon Emily's father threatens to develop the MOB's historic neighborhood and displace thousands of people. Emily must band together with Sean and the MOB to turn their performance mobs into protest mobs, and risk losing their dreams to fight for a greater cause."

Whilst the first two Step Up movies remain to be favorites in my DVD collection, the third installment failed to provide me with anything more than the feeling of the creators saying "GIVE US MONIEZ".  Unfortunately, the best thing about Step Up 3D was the appearance of the MSA crew from Step Up 2, who were all a sight for sore eyes. The only appealing character of the movie thus far had been Moose, who was part of the MSA crew as well in Step Up 2. Here's to hoping that for once, the sequel curse doesn't strike twice.

Step Up 4 is set to be released on August 10, 2012 and will star Kathryn McCormick, Ryan Guzman and Stephen Boss.
