tHop - Machete

Lately it seems like there are a lot of awesome movies coming out. Movies that appeal to a certain part of the human mind that screams for awesome things to happen. To quench this thirst, Quentin Tarantino brought us Inglorious Basterds, Scott Sanders brought us Black Dynamite, Sylvester Stallone is bringing us The Expendables and a while back David R. Ellis brought us Snakes on a Plane. These movies are just plain damned awesome and there is no denying that the next movie will fit in that area quite nicely. The trailer shows Danny Trejo as Machete, a renegade Mexican Federale and hardcore vigilante, after a violent shakedown by some drug lord. He goes around Texas as a day laborer, doing jobs here and there. Eventually he is hired by a crooked American Senator (I mean seriously, is there any other kind in movies?) to do this hush hush hit. But, the back stabbing bastard betrayed him (Nawwww, really?) and after that he has to run from an endless wave of cops and elite assassins. Sneaky as Machete is, he is secretly looking for them so that he can turn the tables.

Now that’s what I call a pretty basic story, amirite? So then what makes this movie so awesome? For one thing, Danny Trejo is the star. This guy just screams awesome. Buuuuuut, he’s not all this movie has to offer. Listen to this: Steven Segal, Robert DeNiro, Michelle Rodriguez, Jeff Fahey, Cheech Marrin, Don Johnson, Jessica Alba and Lindsey Lohan. Now there’s a star cast. I mean, seriously, Steven, Robert, Michelle and Danny all in the same movie is about as awesome as its going to get besides The Expendables.

Besides this, the trailer also shows a great director, great camerawork, good music and overall awesomeness that you can expect from a movie with this cast and crew. Seriously, bring it on. Now.
